Poynter Landscape Wins 1st Place in St. Louis At Home Architect & Designer Awards 2011
The homeowner requested a natural-looking water feature and a visiual screen to hide other activity areas behind their pool. The focal point of the outdoor space, it had to be large enough to enjoy from inside the home, but not too obtrusive when poolside. The pool area is an extension of the family’s central living space and can be seen from several windows inside the home.
The falling of pool water from the water feature back into the pool functionality cools the water temperature in the summer. The benefit can be further controlled with multiple settings that adjust the water volume. The water feature needed to aesthetically connect with the hardscape and horticulural design elements of the space, be both attractive in the day and night during three seasons of the year, and be easy to maintain.
